Gus Mose Blass II, of recon Troop A, left us some of the most detailed memories of service in the squadron. This includes his memoir 'SERVING IN THE ARMORED CAVALRY IN EUROPE DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR: 1944-1945' (downloads from Google Drive).
Visitors may also be interested in the 4th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron. PFC John Bruszewski wrote an excellent history of that squadron’s WW2 service, which was one of the inspirations for this site to honour the 24th. Here’s a free download of a 66 page pdf of The Fightin’ Fourth (downloads from Google Drive). For more information on the 4th Squadron, Scott Morris is building a website.
